I seem to recall I had similar problems with the SNMP browser in Whats Up.
Try using GetIf. Its available on the web at http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc
Follow the Testing link and you can download GetIf for free. By the way,
this site, together with www.somix.com offer great resources for SNMP
management.

I was able to browse the object, but doing a get only results in an
error saying that the variable doesn't exist in the mib. I know this is
a vague description but do you know of anything I might be doing wrong?

Use the mib browser tool. browse to logdsklogicaldiskinstance. Then
click get. I get an object ID of .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.6.1.1 and
instances of 6.48.58.48.58.67.58 (C drive) 6.49.58.49.58.68.58 (D drive)
and 13.95.84.111.116.97.10 (Total). You can then add these instances
into the oid for free space.

Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with the concepts of SNMP and mibs,
but I'm fairly new at implementation. I am using NT Server 4.0. I've
set up What's Up with the proper perfmon.mib and I'm choosing the
logdskFreeMegabytes object. I've also got Constant selected, Greater
than selected, entered a value of 500, and selected TRUE state indicates
Up.
When selecting the object, I entered a 0 (for drive C) in the instance
box. However, this doesn't seem to be working properly as it always
shows as down no matter how it's set up. Am I missing anything? And
what did you mean by "walk" the mib?

You can't specify a disk by drive letter. Are you talking NT? Each
(logical) disk is assigned an instance, and you use this for monitoring.
If you walk the logical disk instance mib, you will find it lists the
instance numbers against the drive letters. The instance numbers will be
something like .6.48.58.48.67 from memory.

How do I specify which drive letter to check? I specify the logical
disk mib, but can't see where to specify the drive letter.
