If it's a Cisco router, the IP address of the interface itself will go down
if the T1 goes to down and down. Otherwise, ping the router on the other end
of the T1. BTW, you should probably notify the admins of the router that you
are monitoring it.

I have had almost no trouble with my T1 line but this morning my provider
connection so my alerts all fired. My server wasn't down and my router
wasn't down but of course there was still no internet connection. I don't
see off hand how to make a dependency work for this and was wondering how
(or if) others might do this?
