Hi, people.
I've defined a Desktop team "group" that includes e-mailing their pager
7am-10pm and e-mailing a network monitoring dbase 24 hours. Now I move on
to an individual device and its properties. I want to "monitor" the device
24 hours, but will not send out alerts 24 hours. I'm actually going to do
a mix, as I'll now explain. In the device alerts box I must choose the
group and then set the time period to alert the group for this device.
Given the defined times for the Desktop pager and the mail-in dbase in the
Desktop "group", I MUST set the time period to 24 hours in order for the
mail-in dbase to receive alerts 24 hours. Now, how does that affect the
Desktop pager. The "group" is set to be alerted 24 hours, but the pager in
the group is set to be alerted between 7am-10pm. Which setting overrides
the other??? I'm guessing that the 24 hour "group" notification then gets
filtered by the pager setting 7am-10pm. Am I right?
If this is NOT the case, then I'd have to use individual notifications.
