WUG runs its own web server, but you need to install and start the service
for it to work. Pages 12 -14 of the user guide cover it in detail, but to
get you started, all you need to do is run
wugsvc -install
from a command prompt. Then do net start wugsvc.

To get the best out of it, you will need to modify the startup parameters
for the service. You need to have it log on using an account in the domain
admins group, otherwise it wont be able to access any services to monitor on
other machines.

It starts the web server on port 80. If you already have a webserver running
on that port on the WUG machine, change the web configuration on the
configure|program options menu

Hope this helps

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Webinterface

Hi

I am new to this list and I just installed an evaluation version of Whatsup
7 in my intranet.
The monitoring of my server works but I don't know how to read the status
with the browser.
In the documentation is written something about the wup webserver. Does this
server run in the background? I don't see any services on my nt server.
What do I have to configure? I like provide this information on a own
virtual server like http://monitor.myintranet.ch

Do I have to configure this special asp code?

Thank in advance for your help and a happy year 2002.
