Just to be clear, does the account WUG is running under have admin rights on
the remote machine, or just locally?

Is the username and password the same on both?

Is the remote machine in a domain? Is the WUG machine in a domain?

Could anything between the servers be refusing to pass traffic over the RPC
ports?

I've configured the "WhatsUp Gold Service" in control panels to logon with
administrator rights, stopped and restarted the service, but the services
continue to be listed as down. Did I miss a step?

Hope this helps,

Make sure your "WhatsUp Gold Service" is logged on with administrator
rights. If it does not, then you will experience your NT Services being
down.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring NT Services

Folks:

I am currently evaluating (21 days remaining) WUG 7.0 and find it to be a
compelling package. However, I have had a problem testing the up-state of
monitored NT Services. I have read the manual and believe that I have
configured the Services to Monitor options correctly. WUG is reporting all
of my NT Services as down when they are not. Aside from all of the
additional features in WUG 7.0 one of the reasons for choosing this package
was to monitor NT Services. If anyone can shed some light on this issue I
would greatly appreciate it.

Hope this helps,
