On the Win2K box... Go to Control Panel. Pick "Network and Dialup connections" Double click the Ethernet connection on the Win2K box. It should show you the status. Select the Properties button. Select the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" in the list that appears and click the Properties button. Click Advanced... on the dialog that appears. Pick the WINS Tab on the dialog that then appears. I bet you have either "Disable NETBIOS over TCP/IP" or "Use NETBIOS setting from the DHCP server".
