Hi Matthew, We are unable to reproduce this. Can you let me know exactly what period you are do not want notifications and how you are configuring them?
fyi Below is a simple test case (in INI form) that you can cut a paste into notepad and save as "AlertWindow.ini" then import into your copy of WUG. You can use this to experiment with monitoring and alerting time periods if desired. In this example are 4 devices, one monitored 9am to 5pm and Alerted 24x7 one monitored 5pm to 9am and Alerted 24x7 one monitored 24x7 and Alerted 9am to 5pm one monitored 24x7 and Alerted 5pm to 9am ; start of AlertWindow.ini file [Map] DatabaseVersion=100 CenterPoint=-158.875000 19.475006 ActiveDiscoveryParameters=1 3000 1 60 0 1 HintToUsers=The following device and annotation table is provided to you for informational purposes only. On import, WUG reads the actual object entries in the file and ignores this table NumberOfDevices=4 Device=0x5ABE6CDE Device=0x5ABE7A56 Device=0x5AC17205 Device=0x5AC2422E [Device:0x5ABE6CDE] DisplayName=Monitor 9am to 5pm HostName=128.0.0.1 IPAddress=128.0.0.1 HostTypeName=Host SpecialFlags=0x00001022 MonitorTime=1 StartTime=0x00000384 EndTime =0x000006A4 NumberOfAlerts=1 Alert=WinPopup/Default 1 0000 2400 0 0 Menu=Connect~[telnet];Ping~[ping];Traceroute~[trace];Browse~[browse]; Object=Host ItemID=0x5ABE6CDE Envelope=-229.500000 -79.000000 -197.500000 -47.000000 Location=-213.500000 -63.000000 Dimension=32.000000 32.000000 [Device:0x5ABE7A56] DisplayName=Monitor 5pm to 9am HostName=128.0.0.1 IPAddress=128.0.0.1 HostTypeName=Host SpecialFlags=0x00001022 MonitorTime=2 StartTime=0x000006A4 EndTime =0x00000384 NumberOfAlerts=1 Alert=WinPopup/Default 1 0000 2400 0 0 Menu=Connect~[telnet];Ping~[ping];Traceroute~[trace];Browse~[browse]; Object=Host ItemID=0x5ABE7A56 Envelope=-119.250000 -79.500000 -87.250000 -47.500000 Location=-103.250000 -63.500000 Dimension=32.000000 32.000000 [Device:0x5AC17205] DisplayName=Monitor 24x7 Notify 9am to 5pm HostName=128.0.0.1 IPAddress=128.0.0.1 HostTypeName=Host SpecialFlags=0x00001022 NumberOfAlerts=1 Alert=WinPopup/Default 1 0800 1700 0 1 Menu=Connect~[telnet];Ping~[ping];Traceroute~[trace];Browse~[browse]; Object=Host ItemID=0x5AC17205 Envelope=-231.875000 31.649994 -199.875000 63.649994 Location=-215.875000 47.649994 Dimension=32.000000 32.000000 [Device:0x5AC2422E] DisplayName=Monitor 24x7 Notify 5pm to 9am HostName=128.0.0.1 IPAddress=128.0.0.1 HostTypeName=Host SpecialFlags=0x00001022 NumberOfAlerts=1 Alert=WinPopup/Default 1 1700 0800 0 2 Menu=Connect~[telnet];Ping~[ping];Traceroute~[trace];Browse~[browse]; Object=Host ItemID=0x5AC2422E Envelope=-116.875000 72.649994 -84.875000 104.649994 Location=-100.875000 88.649994 Dimension=32.000000 32.000000 ; end of AlertWindow.ini file ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Reed" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 9:27 AM Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] bug confirmation? > WUG 7 - Setting a range of time that you DON'T want a notification from a > specific host doesn't seem to work in WUG. > > Have tried several settings and am still getting notified in the 'off > hours'. > > Can anyone confirm this? > > > Matthew Reed > Network Administration Team > Internet Express, Inc. > > > > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html > to be removed from this list. > > An Archive of this list is available at: > http://www.mail-archive.com/whatsup_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ > > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
