We at somix are releasing a product called Logalot. It monitors NT/2000
event logs without an agent on the machine. It also will do SNMP trap
handling, receive SMTP alerts, and do syslog monitoring. You will be able to
set up notifications on all of these things. A reporting engine will soon
follow so you will be able to look at how often you are getting certain
messages. It is all back-ended by MySQL.

I have been told by IpSwitch Support that someone on this list has
already
implemented a solution for monitoring NT/2K event logs with WhatsUpGold;
but they couldn't remember the specific 3rd party vendor.
Could someone help with my search? I want to be able to use WhatsUp as
the primary monitoring interface. The triggering event doesn't need to
be
configurable if there are enough preassigned (builtin) options. It would
be
nice to have the flexibility to create new triggers when a new software
application is added to the NT/2K servers.
