There is a tool included with win2k called the Event to Trap Translator (
evntwin.exe ).

1- You need first to install the snmp service on the pc you want to monitor
.( evntwin will
be installed during this process)

2-Configure the snmp Service
        Open Start - Run - Services.msc
                        Select snmp Service - Properties
                        Configure Startup Type at Automatic
In Traps enter the community name and
the IP address of the WUP station

3- Configure the Event Translator
        Open Start - Run - evntwin.exe
                        Click Edit
Browse and select the event you want to generates a
trap on

4- You can then refer to WUP doc. to create a notification on SNMP Trap

5- and you can refer to
 http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/WG-20020305-DM01.htm
to associate a nice name to the trap generated.
