I have WUG 7.0.3 and patched up to 7.0.4. I can not get WUG to work as a service under NT services. I am installing just as Ipswitch says to: (C:\Program Files\WhatsUp\wugsvc -install) and it says and shows up as installed. NT services says it is running but when I try to get to the web interface (yes, the web interface is enabled) I can't.
The service does not respond when I try to stop it. Also, normally you can't start WUG from the console when you have the service running, but, I CAN start WUG at the console with the service running. So something is definitely wrong here. I have tried numerous combinations of uninstalls/installs of the OS and WUG. I have even gone from Win 2000 to Win 2000 Advanced Server. I have wiped out the hard drive completely as well. All this has been done on NTFS partition just like Ipswitch says. One weird thing is the service works just fine on another Win 2000 machine with FAT32 partition. I thought it wasn't supposed to work under FAT32. Hmmm? I'm sure other people have seen this as it looks like the last two patches involve fixing things with the service.
