Steve,

I accomplish something similar by polling bytes in and bytes out of switch
ports. You could consider any port that has passed no traffic for a month
un-patch eligible.

Steve,
Service data statistics are not logged therefore cannot be reported on.
That is an interesting question. Let me know what you come up with if you do
find a solution.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Checking Port Status with SNMP and Creating a
Legible Report

Hi All,

I am currently testing 2 switches to poll every hour and check to see what
ports are up and down. I know I can print out an event report to see when
ports are up and down, but I would like to get a report that will show the
daily, weekly, and monthly status. Can I create an event report in Whatsup
Gold to show me that data? Its seems I can really only can create
availability reports, RTT reports etc. I am trying to consolidate switches
in my closets so if I have a port that is down for a month I can un-patch
it.

Thanks,
