How does WUG send SMS messages for verizon phones then? Do you need a modem hooked up to the WUG server?

SMS is just text messaging. The real noticable difference is that you don't receive all the header info that you get with emailing the phone. I also seem to get SMS messages faster than E-mails. I have had lots of problems with E-mails even working to my Verizon phones, that is the main reason I set up SMS messaging instead. -----Original Message----- From: Jason Benway [mailto:benwayj@;ghsp.com] Sent: Friday, October 25, 2002 12:54 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [WhatsUp Forum] Cell phone dialup alerts from WUG Is SMS any different than sending an email to vtext.com for a verizon phone? Or is that SMS for verizon phones? Their switch had a TCP/IP Port that would accept SMS, so we setup a Linux box to take email and convert it and send it to the SMS port on the cell sw.
