Since you asked, even though this is not for NT Services. Thank you for
opening up for suggestions. I would think this is the ideal place to find
ways to improve your product.

Wish list.

1. Allow a forced sort for alerts. I would like the alerts to go in a
specific order. It now seems that they are based on the last one entered is
the first alerted. Please add a way to maintain a sort order for each
device for alerting. This is a high priority for my office based the
problems we have with the next wish.

2. Group pages. We get a high percentage of our pages that fail 2 or 3
times before making it to the carrier. Debug shows that it does not get a
dial tone most of the time (the modem has not had enough time to hang up
before WhatsUp tries to send again). Is there any way we can get group
paging added? I have asked for this several times over the last 4 years.
What I mean by group paging - that WhatsUp makes one phone call to our pager
carrier (our case MobilFone) connects and sends as many pages to as many
different pager numbers as is necessary. We typically have three pages sent
per down device. Having all three sent at once would be the first step,
then having it send all three pages for all of the devices that drop at the
same time would be even better. For example - last night we were still
getting pages for down devices over 2 hours after all devices were already
back up and working properly. I actually closed WhatsUp and opened it back
up to stop the paging, so it was not even finished over 2 hours later
because of all of the failed alerts. Granted we did have a great number of
devices down (thanks to SWB doing equipment upgrades). Had we been able to
send group pages, the alerts would have been completed long before canceling
them. We use a text paging system (AirPro) that sends to MobilFone and
sends multiple pages with one phone call, so our carrier is capable of this
type of action. In a test I just ran with one device going down and back up
twice - this should have been 12 pages (three for each down and up) I got 11
failed before all 12 went through properly.

Please contact me if you need additional information.

Thank you,
