We use a Telstra SMS/TAP gateway, modem just dial's a Telstra Mobile number direct, and can SMS worldwide GSM networks, including vodaphone.
Cost 30 second mobile call, no account setup, just goes. Number: 018018767 Needs a standard pasword like "mail" I think, can confirm if you need.
