Yes. they have to be separate "devices" on the map. For instance if you were monitoring HTTP, you would create an icon with an HTTP service then you set the polling method to TCP. That will disable ICMP polling and use the HTTP poll to gather the stats.

Eric,
You must create a separate instance for another service. You would need to set the polling method to the protocol you are monitoring. This is because only the primary polling method is actually logged to the statistics log. I have asked Ipswitch to include service stats in SLA monitoring.

I currently have an item on a map that monitors 5 services.  One of the services has been down for at least half the month.  The icon shows as a service down, but when I run performance reports it says that the particular item in question was up 100% of the time.  Do I have to monitor each service separately in order to get accurate reporting?
