Yesterday I removed IIS from two Windows 2000 servers. I had them listed on a couple
of maps that were monitoring HTTP & SMTP. I deleted them from their respective maps
but WhatsUp continued sending pages for several hours. There were no entries in the
WUG log indicating alerts were sent, but there were a lot of entries in the SMTP log.
When I shut-off SMTP on the WUG server, I started getting WUG log entries for
unsuccessful alerts. So it seems that WUG was continuing to send alerts for systems
that weren't even being monitored anymore. I also continued receiving alerts for
another server that was rebooted during this same time period even though it was up
and was not missing any polls. I rebooted the WUG server and it continued to send the
false pages. I'm running WUG 7.04 on a Windows 2000 server.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
