From my perspective, Seems that if you cannot ping those devices the problem should be on the way your network is configured.

I imagine that if you are mentioning proxy server means that there are several sets of devices accross trusted an untrusted parts of your netowork.

Most of the times when you have these type of configurations you have to invest some time on getting which devices are able to go from one section to another by setting the correct permission on proxys/firewalls. Depending of on the type of device you have to set these permissions at a port level, source/destination address or entry point.

As soon as you can ping these devices you should be able to get them into WhatsUP map

Good day,

I am evaluating WhatsupGold 8. I made an ICMP scan on a LAN from my whatup Gold 8. The radio addresses are in the same range as the other devices The devices I get after the search are two routers, a proxy server, a workstation and one radio(altium). All these are on the same LAN as the Whatsup Gold machine

However, there is a set of other radios in series beyond the one I see and another set beyond each of the routers. All these radios are not discovered by the scan. I verified by other means that these radios were on at the time of the scan. I can't even ping these radios from the WhatsupGold machine.

Can anyone out there help me

Hello,

Are you evaluating WhatsUp Gold or do you have a fully purchased version?

Are the radio IP's in the same range as the other devices?  Are the devices

that are not discovered on at the time of the scan?  Can you ping these

devices from the WhatsUp Gold machine?

Problem:

I connected whatsup gold to a LAN that has a radio network management

system. I used the create map wizard using ICMP for a specified range of IP

adress. However, the map contained only the workstations and routers

directly connected to the LAN. The radios(IP based Altium) in the field

where not seen. Where could the problem be. Can I send you the diagram of

the whole management system?
