Is there a way to have the downed Service name included in the notification
email? At the moment my daily status email informs me of the name of down
devices and the name of down devices with services down but if a device is
monitoring several different services I would like to include the name of
the service that is down.

Mark,

Thanks! Does the %(service::justup) notification variable have to be used in
conjunction with the Up Alert mode set to Send individual Up alert for the
device and each service that comes up ?

Also, is there a way to send a different formatted SMTPmail notification for
the same device and SMTPmail recipient? For example, you send one e-mail
message with different notification variables for services down and one
message type with other variables for services up?

Looks like this capability exist for the wav sounds notifications.

Regards,

Jon

In version 8.x of WUG there is notification variable called
%(services::justup). It will allow you to see the abbreviated names of all
services that came up with the last poll.

Brian,

This question has been asked a number of times in the past on this forum,
but so far I have yet to see a "Yes, and this is how you do it" response...

Below is the same question I previously asked...

Surely someone knows ?

Thanks...

Jon

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Enumerate NT Service Up (Okay, but which one?)

This is probably something simple that I am over looking, but perhaps you
have seen this too?

When receiving an alert for down a NT service, Whatsup will list the service
in both the subject and text part of the e-mail alert. However, when
receiving an alert for when the service comes back up, it does not list the
service. I am using the same e-mail alert for both a down and up
notification.

This happens whether or not some services or all the services come back up.

Any suggestions, other than RTFM or use the online help?

Thanks..

Jon

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Notification Message Variables

Currently,
I am using the following variables for my messages:
%n(Display Name)
%V(Names of down services or monitors, followed by the word "services"
%u(Can result in the word "UP, "DOWN", Event name", "SVCUP", or
"SVCDOWN")
at %t (Current Time)

When I have an Ethernet interface go down, I get the full message I'm
looking for, but when the interface comes back up, I only get the Devise
Name with SVCUP- I would like to get which actual service came back up.

Is there a variable for this?

-brian
