Did you remember to set the router up to send SNMP Trap messages to your

Hi
I've setup an snmp trap event on a cisco 3550 to watch for any
interfaces to
go down and alert if they do. So I've added the snmp event "linkdown"
to
the device and I'm trying to use snmpnotify to generate a test message
and
I've got snmpnotify to send a message to whatsup and the "ifoperstatus"
trap
shows up under the device yet there is no indication of the actual
status.
I see under the snmpnotify syntax that I have to specify the variable
type
and value (type would be integer and value would be 2 to specify a
down
interface) and I cant seem to get the syntax right to get the status to
show
up. Please help.
