Title: Check Now button for web interface
OK , no responses to this, so let me expand.

It appears that the only thing that the SQL and Exchange Plug-ins do is give the capability for WUG to monitor objects within WMI.  Ipswitch limits the objects that you can look at in the WMI tree is  SQL and Exchange objects  (big deal).  For $345, I should be able to get an add-on that has the ability to look at all objects in the WMI tree.

IPSWITCH - Why can I only monitor WMI objects for exchange and SQL?   Seems to me that WMI should be treated identical to SNMP and added to the core product.  I have to use a different NMS to have this basic functionality????

Anyone else have an opinion?

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] WMI Scripting for monitoring

Without using the event viewer of a particular system, does anyone have any good ideas to have WUG monitor a WMI value.

For example:  Instead of using SNMP thresholds to monitor CPU utilization, use WMI to get the CPU info and trigger an alert based on certain criteria much like how WUG does SNMP.

I cannot think of a good way to do it without building the majority of the logic into a VB/WMI script.  Am I wrong to assume that the new Exchange and SQL plug-ins that ipswitch is trying to sell just monitors WMI objects?

Thoughts?
