We recently moved from 7.03 to 8.03. We have several devices that we monitor that are on a 3
minute scheduled reboot. I have these devices set as follows: Map Polling – 60 seconds Alert Trigger - 4 Logging Trigger - 3 Device Timeout - 15 seconds Polling Freq - 1 My issue is that since these devices do miss a poll every so
often, I do not need the acknowledge flag being triggered unless a actual alert
is send (4 missed polls). In version 7.03, I did not seem to
have a problem with the above settings (I am using the exact same maps from
v7.03), but in the new version, they are popping up all over the place on these
devices every minute. I reviewed the documentation on what causes an acknowledge
in v8.03 and confirmed that the map is not changing, no NT service checks, no
log entry is being produced, etc. The only thing I see left
to do is let these devices start skipping polls which will reduce the frequency
of the acks but also reduce the accountability when the device actually goes
down and stays down. The docs lead me to believe that if I am not producing a log
entry or alert on these devices there should be no acknowledge flag set on the
maps. Did something change in the new version that I overlooked in the
docs? Or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, |
