Here's a list of what I had to do to complete this transformation, for anyone who
cares:

1. Save all the maps as .xml files.
2. Change the default map database type under Program Options.
3. Change the default map directory...why it was different I don't know.
4. Move all the .wup and .wui files out of the default map directory, leaving the
ones that ended in xml.wui.
5. Change all the submap parent map setting to the xml files and save them
all...again.
6. Manually edit the device.asp and change both occurances of .wup to .xml.

And now I think it's working ok, but I haven't tried to run any reports or stats yet.

Regards,

Bob

Nevermind, I had to change the default "map directory", and move the old wup maps out
of it so they wouldn't show up as available along with the new xml ones. Ugly.

Ok, I've change the maps to xml and saved them all, including the default in
Configure/Program Options/Map database, and restarted a couple times. Now, when I get
into the web config to fix security there is only the default map available to assign.
None of the xml maps are available, and the old users still have all the .wup maps
assigned to them. Even if I add a new user, the default map is the only one available
to assign.

What have I missed?

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] OT: Fax and Copier

I know this is off topic but I think this is the group of people to ask, so
please respond to me off the list.

Jeff(dot)Cook(at)WECU(dot)com

Our IT department was just given the responsibility of FAX and copy
machines. Most of what we fax is paper documents not created for the
computer, so software based fax would not work well.

How do you or your organization handle faxing and coping?

Any input would be helpful.

Thank You
