Hello Alex,

 

Have you tried playing with the Device States?

 

Configure -> Program Options -> Device States

 

Change the Lost 1 Packet to a Square, etc.

 

The above will give the perception that everything is OK even if it misses a ping. 

 

If you do the above, you might also want to play with the “Trigger” in the Alert option of the icons you are experiencing this problem with.

I'm using What's Up ver. 8 to monitor an Alcatel switch via ICMP. This switch has a faulty management module and this problem is manifest itself by generating false "down" alerts in What's Up (even though I can ping the switch from my desktop with no problem) Is there a way to force What's Up to only generate an alert when a certain number of packets have been dropped?
