You can specify a trigger value when configuring the alert on the device.  i,e set the trigger to 4 and the alert will only be generated when 4 polls are missed.

I'm using What's Up ver. 8 to monitor an Alcatel switch via ICMP. This switch has a faulty management module and this problem is manifest itself by generating false "down" alerts in What's Up (even though I can ping the switch from my desktop with no problem) Is there a way to force What's Up to only generate an alert when a certain number of packets have been dropped?
