You need a mib file, if you want to have WUG tranlate snmp traps from the switch (could be done later).
You dont need to configure a service - just place a device on the map (e.g. hub) and run a service autodiscovery. This will recognize all interfaces (for uo/down monitoring).
OID is filled by WUG.

Is this the only way..........so I will need to go on the 3com switch first and configure the SNMP, and then I add a service on whatsup gold. What i need a mib file and an OID to create this service.

Hi,
Is anyone using whatsup to monitor 3COM superstack II switch 1100 & 3300. We need to monitor these switches but I do not know how I would do this. Is it a matter of adding a device or what I need to do something extra. Can anyone advise.
