Set the POLL TYPE under settings in the device being monitored from ICMP to "SERVICES
ONLY"...

how do you create an alert which is not triggered by an icmp timeout?

Create separate devices, one that just monitors up/down and the other
that monitors the services. Then you can control the alert
destinations. It could get pretty messy though if you have a lot of
devices.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Alerts to different destinations?

Hi!

Is this possible?

Scenario:
I have my WUG to monitor up/down-state on a server. WUG is also
monitoring some services.
And when the server goes down or a service fails an alert is sent.

My wish:
To separate the service alerts so they are sent to another destination.
So that when the server goes down, everyone is alerted.
But when a monitored service fails only a few are alerted.

I know how to setup filter out events and choose where the alert will be
sent.
But when it comes to "monitor and services" all alarms are sent
together.

Can it be done? Hope you understand.
