Nope. There is an option of sending email using exchange server in WUP SB 2004. In my case I should not have any external connectivity to my LAN due to information security. Question is how an event to initiate modem dialing (or initiate a batch command)?

A Shot at it:  Add a script or something that opens Internet Explorer and requests an address outside the box’s network.  You will have to set IE to dial automatically when its tries to connect.

I thought similarly. But I am monitoring systems that are on isolated private LAN without any mail system. At the most I can install a modem which can dialup and send messages. But I didn’t see any options available to kick off modem dialing.

What you can do is to send the email notification to a pager/SMS gateway service.  It works out pretty well in most cases.

Cheers!

I tested WUP SB 2004 and the UI is excellent and intelligent than WUP Gold. The concern is notification is very limited. Is there a way to use Pager/SMS notification with this product?
