This is not good to see. Currently we have a few items and a couple of
maps unchecked until we get them back online again after all the
hurricanes Florida dealt with.... If I have to re-enable them just to
import them during an install and then disable them again once they are
imported, it's going to cost me more hours than it's worth to upgrade my
current configuration to WUP. This is almost definately starting to
sound like it will be simpler/easier to start from scratch with the new
version if it allows us to build maps as quickly and as efficiently as
WUGv7/8 did... IPSwitch- Come on, life shouldn't be this difficult to
upgrade a working configuration!

Forget that. That was wrong.. it just seemed that way at first. I
think it did not import anything we have the monitoring unchecked at
the
container level.

Any reason why it seemed not to import any WUG map that started with a
number?

Norm, during the install of WhatsUp Pro it will go through the local
WhatsUp directory and the registry and pull the information in. So
that
is why you would have to migrate WUG over to the other machine first
and
transfer your maps and ini files over and then run the install of
WhatsUp Pro.

We are installing WhatsUp Pro on a different machine than our
current WhatsUp Gold machine.

So will we have to recreate the entire config on the new
machine? No import possibilities?

        Kushal,

by design the upgrade functionality is part of the install
itself. So WUG would have to be present on the machine at the time of
install. You can always go back and run the install again if you
choose
to import the WUG files later on.

When installing WUP if I choose not to perform an
upgrade at install or I install What's Up Pro on a new server, is
there
a method to import individual maps and services from What's Up Gold?
