Not to speak for Robert, but I'm guessing that his point is that the
W3C isn't creating a standard here.

Note that this isn't a W3C list, but a WHATWG list. They are distinct
entities.

Of course, I was simply referencing Chris' mention of "the WWW Corporation". No offense meant.

Oh, none taken. I just though I'd point that out as occasionally I see blogs linking to the WHATWG saying it's the W3C. And while there's considerable overlap between the two "communities" they're not the same thing.
