"data-" is such a nice generic prefix that I'm afraid sooner or later
someone will start basing microformats-like markup on that.
It's not a bad idea... Unfortunately data-* is already being used quite a
lot and has been widely advertised, so we have to be careful with this.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?
I think we should keep data- as is. People have started to use it, we
would waste their time by renaming it.
