you have to understand how frustrating this is.

it happened when MVEL came out and now its happening with t5. our users read
about something new and shiny and then post emails like yours to the list
without doing any research. so what happens then? it us, the core
developers, who have to go out and spend our time doing the research. our
user list has about 500+ users, and there are less then 10 core developers,
its not a good ratio to be on the receiving end of. we already spend _a lot_
of our personal time helping our users with wicket, but when it comes to
these theoretical comparisons it just gets annoying.

it wouldve been much nicer if you did the research and provided an initial
comparison yourself, is that too much to ask for/expect in your view? then
someone from the core devs would fix whatever they thought was faulty. but
your message really sounded provocative/trolling.

Eelco,
Good points about the planning with the unanticipated incubation & book

Igor,
Wow, nice & complete post. Your final line changes the tone of your post a
bit. No doubt your attitude is justifiable. Nevertheless, some of those
who
watch this list just aren't going to be able to form a thorough response
like yours and yet we benefit from analysis by core developers and so I
ask.
Maybe it would help to think of me as a friendly someone who is interested
in the best possible market perception of Wicket, Wicket as it may be
perceived by people doing less than ideal framework comparisons.
