only for a several dependencies?

There are enough people that aren't able to make the switch. Just as
I've created support for ant users in our downloads, I want to
maintain (at least for a while) some form of basic support for maven
1.

This will be limited to the java:compile, test, javadoc and jar
targets. The other support will not be maintained or removed
altogether.
