Does sun and others ship it now as default for all countries? (there are some export restrictions if i am not mistaken)

yes, that is probably a good idea. But I'd definitely prefer to keep the current implementation in. There many many real life web application which use "remember me" and which require encryption. Why not provide two implementations with Wicket.
a null Crypt implementation that prints out a warning and returns the
string it is passed might be better than junit tests that fail if you're
not set up right.
