Actually it is possible to use classes instead of property files for all your key-value stuff with resourcebundles.

Take a look at this tech tip http://java.sun.com/developer/JDCTechTips/2004/tt1214.html#1 and decide if you think it is worth the effort.

Now I’m not sure of how the internals of wicket work but if they just use resourcebundles it could work.

 

Also in java 6 you can have more control over the caching mechanism of resourcebundles, but you probably don’t want to wait until wicket has progressed to java 6 ;)
