Hi Martijn

Yes, I am using Wicket professionally. Up to now, our company have been
using Struts for several pretty big applications. Maintenance is a pain.
For future products I have decided to use Wicket and Hibernate. I have
tried to get up to speed in Tapestry, but there is something there that
just doesn't feel right - the XML part. Wicket feels right and I have
built two applications with it, both for internal use in our company.
Recently, we hired Frank Bengtsson for a new project as an external
consultant and I forced him to use Wicket as well ;)
You may have seen his name recently on this list. He is very enthusiatic
about working with Wicket :)

One of the applications I built took off from the CD application example
(i.e. it uses Hibernate). I think the code is a bit verbose, as has
already been discussed on this list. Phil Kulak has had a go at improving
it. That looks really nice but I haven't had a chance to incorporate his
patterns in my code.

I think the following would be important aspects in the short term:
Technology:
- Investigations into "Wicket-on-rails"
- Ajax of course

Maybe more import - availability:
- More components (even though Tapestry is an older project, Wicket has
the opportunity to make more components available to developers. The
Tapestry guys made this Tacos project for components. I don't think it
ever offered any components at all.)
- More "how-to" documentation, on components as well as the framework.
The documentation on Model is a great example. That is good stuff.
- I think it would be a good idea to write a how-to document for Struts
programmers. The equivalent of logic:iterate in Wicket is....

Oh, by the way. I have suggested to the organizers of the JAOO
conference (Aarhus, Denmark, september) that you guys be invited. I
haven't got a response yet, but if you are interested, check out
