I completely agree with using composition over inheritance. However, the inheritance you pointed here were not completely related to the log_message thing and it requires more refactoring than expected to change them. So I think I will open a bug report so that I won't forget to check that later, and that I will merge this as it will allow me to get a bit further with the fh1 branch.
