The Quartz Skin Customization page tells people not to include the links they use up top inside the sidebar. But the Sidebar is also used in MonoBook and thus if they do not put it there then those still using MonoBook can't navigate around the site.
Could we finally get a method of specifying different sidebar stuff in Quartz than in MonoBook. There are only two options I can think of. The best one: Use [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]] for MonoBook. And use [[MediaWiki:Quartzsidebar]] for Quartz. [[MediaWiki:Quartzsidebar]] will be - by default and when left like that it will fallback to [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]]. That way all normal sidebars are still left the same, but we can also customize the Quartz sidebar if we need. There is only one other way to do it, link removal in this case... Use [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]] for the Sidebar in all skins. But have a [[MediaWiki:Quartzsidebarremove]] or some other message. Inside that will be a list with links inside [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]] that should be ignored. So if [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]] was: * Navigation ** mainpage|mainpage ** recentchanges-url|recentchanges ** helppage|help Then [[MediaWiki:Quartzsidebarremove]] would either be: * mainpage|mainpage * recentchanges-url|recentchanges Or: * Navigation ** mainpage|mainpage ** recentchanges-url|recentchanges Depending on what syntax you want, and it would ignore those links in the sidebar while in quartz. -- ~Daniel Friesen(Dantman) of: -The Gaiapedia (http://gaia.wikia.com) -Wikia ACG on Wikia.com (http://wikia.com/wiki/Wikia_ACG) -and Wiki-Tools.com (http://wiki-tools.com) _______________________________________________ Wikia-l mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wikia.com/mailman/listinfo/wikia-l
