Hi Guesty thingy, Right now with V2, there's a box ad on every page and as a result the right sidebar is wider than most people have wanted. For V3, there would be no box ad on 99.99% of the pages... and only one box ad on the main_page. So one way of thinking about it is that this juts out on the main_page... another way of thinking about it is that there's more space on all the other pages of the wiki.
The rational for wanting a space for that box ad is that we're trying to balance the need of the communities with the pragmatics of running the site.
