Hi folks,

Recently our wikis were upgraded to a new version of MediaWiki. With
all the extensions and modifications that wikia has to the software,
is really a headache to make an upgrade. There are lots of extensions
to check or upgrade, new extensions to add, etc.

I don't know how much tests the techs have done before upgrading all
the wikis, but from my point of view they haven't done enough tests,
regarding <http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:1.10a_bugs> and
<http://www.wikia.com/index.php?title=Forum:MediaWiki_1.12_upgrade>.

Some of the bugs are difficult to notice because happens only in very
uncommon circumstances, but others are easily noticeable. Examples are
the duplicate edit toolbar and the floating footer.

The upgrade has been done, but for the next upgrade I'd like to make a
suggestion: Please, make the upgrade '''only to one wiki''' that is
only for testing, like <http://communitytest.wikia.com/>, or a
replication of other wiki, and invite all of us to test in it he new
features of the upgrade and to give some feedback. A week later, if
there's no major issues with the upgrade, then proceed with the
upgrade to all wikis.

Now we have some major issues with the upgrade. It's weekend and we're
near of the Christmas holidays, so it seems like it won't be solved
until next week...

I know that we don't pay for this service but, please, take more
seriously our communities. The money you are earning comes from our
work, not from the ads - If there's no content, there's no visitors,
and then no money.

That's all, folks.
