Hi Jesús ... good points about how we should be more careful. Typically, we do a fair amount of testing, so let me check into the ones that should have been obvious. On the others, as you noted, sometimes they're a bit hard to find. We do build "beta" sites for many of the larger wikis specifically so they can test it out (another dimension to the testing is the performance of the upgrade with lots of traffic - actually, we've been working most of the weekend on a memory leak issue that's effecting the apaches under 1.12). I agree about publishing a site for everyone to see but I'm not sure that solves the issue completely... we see many post-upgrade issues which are wiki specific.
Anyway, let me take a look at what should have been obvious ones and see what happened... and I think publishing a general "upgraded" site for the whole community to play with is the right thing to do. Please understand that even with things like that in place, we'll still get issues that aren't caught. When we've done that before (for things like v1/v2) we've found that in general we don't get the real feedback until people are actually effected by the new feature or new upgrade. :) Ok... let me follow up on the ones should have been obvious. Thanks Jesús, John Q. times the issues that pop up Jesús Martínez wrote: > Hi folks, > > Recently our wikis were upgraded to a new version of MediaWiki.
