Today, loading concurrently this tho pages: <http://es.pokemon.wikia.com/index.php?title=Ho-Oh&action=edit> and <http://es.pokemon.wikia.com/index.php?title=Ho-Oh&action=edit&oldid=18425>, the latter one gave me a "MediaWiki White screen of death" saying a database error occurred, (hidden SQL) inside the function "Database::replace". The error reported was "1205: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction (216.151.156.9)".
The pages are the ones which tooks an eternity to load. Also, I noticed that sometimes, when is loading a page that takes a long time to load, and simultaneously I try to load other pages like Special:Recentchanges or others which are normally fast to load, all pages say "loading" a long time until one of them gets loaded, and then the others start to render. Maybe there's a concurrency problem. Any idea of when the problem will get solved? I installed exactly the current version of the wiki from SVN (svn checkout -r 26409 http://svn.wikimedia...) in my computer, downloaded the last database dump (pages_current) of the es.pokemon wiki, imported the dump with the import script, and imported those small images of the page with the importimages script, and the pages that here takes very long to load, for me loaded acceptably fast. Wikia is supposed to have fast dedicated servers so here the load would be really faster. Maybe the problem is one of the extensions, or the internal database architecture of wikia, but not MediaWiki itself. Maybe recreating the wiki in a similar web server with the same extensions, and then disabling each of the extensions could be a starting point to look into it.
