Summary: Control TOC level/depth displayed per page
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: 1.13.3
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Normal
         Component: General/Unknown
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

I've seen the global for controlling overall TOC depth for all pages
($wgMaxTocLevel), and a template approach used in Wikipedia for controlling
depth on a per page basis
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_editing#Limiting_the_TOC), but it would
be very convenient if there was a method to easily control this for all
MediaWiki installations. Maybe something similar to what Wikipedia does. I
would like to keep standard heading markup and control TOC display only for a
few pages.
