Summary: Atom/RSS feeds for user contributions should (only?)
contain the diffs
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contri
butions&feed=atom&target=newbies
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Normal
Component: General/Unknown
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Blocks: 3646
Like for the RecentChanges(Linked) and history feeds, Atom/RSS feeds for user
contributions should also (only?) contain the diffs. Atom could separate
between <summary> and <content>, maybe.
Currently you get the whole page for a user contribution, not just the diff, so
you do not know what exactly has been changed!
Example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&feed=atom&target=newbies
should look like:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Example&feed=atom&action=history (two
columns, shorter, cleaner, you can see changes).
If a page was created, the full text shown in this case, could be inside of
<content> for Atom feeds instead of <summary>.
