             Bug #: 33765
Summary: creating a new section with a subststituted tempate in
the heading causes the edit summary to display the
                    template code
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Page editing
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified

When a new section is created using ?action=edit&section=new , the text of
templates substituted is used as the edit summary. Is it possible to replace
that with the actual text before saving?

Example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/feedback&diff=prev&oldid=471753133

should really have the edit summary "Feedback from 41.202.195.239 (16 January
2012)" because that's the actual section heading.
