Bug #: 37973
           Summary: tie bar shows incorrectly in IPA class
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: General/Unknown
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

I saw this on Wikipedia, and I think it may be Wikimedia specific because I
can't reproduce it on another MediaWiki installation elsewhere.

In IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), the tie bar displays incorrectly.

Contrast:

* ɪt͡ʃ
* ɪt͡ʃ

The tie bar symbol is meant to go between the two characters that it connects,
and in the first case it works (i.e. it overlies the t and ʃ), but when it is
inside the span directive, it goes wrong and the tie bar ends up being to the
left of the intended location. I see this in both Firefox 12.0 and IE9, both
running on Windows 7.

I am listing this as Windows 7 bug as that's all I've tested it on, but other
OSs could also be affected.
