This is because we used to have "editbugs" for all users by default and then there was a period of Bugzilla vandalism where people were adjusting titles, editing components etc. Now automatic assignment of this user group has been disabled for new users. Instead, Bugzilla admins add legitimate users to the group when they face problems. I'm one of said admins, so I've added you to the "editbugs" and "canconfirm" groups so that your bugs will automatically be marked as new and you can adjust fields for existing bugs. Also assigning this bug to me as I'm handling mailing list creation. Are there a number of people that will be joining this list?
