howief <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #24 from howief <[email protected]> 2012-11-01 04:54:56 UTC --- I suggest we turn off the Contact --> OTRS feature and wait until we can deploy a better solution, which is probably some kind of a form: * As far as I know, there is no legal requirement for us to have Contact on the mobile version of our site. * My understanding (from a conversation with Philippe) is that a mobile version of Contact going to OTRS is opportunistic. e.g., people are viewing WP when they're on mobile -- wouldn't it be nice if they were able to let OTRS know if they saw a problem? It wasn't intended to be a critical part of how OTRS got alerted to issues and, in its current implementation, doesn't appear like it's become a critical part. * The costs of dealing with this stream, with all its problems, far outweighs the benefit (signal/noise ratio). To be transparent, it might be a while before we deploy a better solution for OTRS. We could mobile-fy AFT5, develop a form, etc., but those ideas would have to be considered alongside all the other things the mobile team could be working on, including mobile watchlist, photo uploads, etc. If that sounds good, once the Contact --> OTRS feature is turned off, I'll close this bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
