            Bug ID: 65479
Summary: Moving subpages over existing pages not possible
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Page deletion
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

When trying to move a page to another already existing page the message "==
Deletion required == The destination page "xyz" already exists. Do you want to
delete it to make way for the move?" is prompted. When you tick "Yes, delete
the page" and press "Delete and move" only the way gets cleared for the main
page and not the respective subpages. Thus the old subpages stay where they
were before and one ends up with different already existing subpages apparently
of the same name in the new location which were not deleted to make place for
the move of the subpages.

It will be nice if the automatic deletion of existing subpages prior to the
move is possible, too. However, until this is possible message "Delete and move
text" should probably be amended to

== Deletion required ==
The destination page "[[:$1]]" already exists.
Do you want to delete it to make way for the move? (not applicable to subpages)

or something similar.
