--- Comment #2 from Quiddity <[email protected]> --- Sorry, I should've given clearer examples. A) If I submit a new bug, and I turn on "Advanced fields", I can see the list of "Default CC" recipients. B) When I submit a new bug, I get a list of "Emails also sent to", which typically includes the Default CCs. For these components (and many more), that list includes email addresses which are no longer functional (because the former-staff member has been off-boarded). E.g. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions&component=ContentTranslation (asharma) https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions&component=Echo (bsitu) https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions&component=E3%20Experiments (swalling) This is especially a problem, if ALL the default CCs are non-functional addresses (especially @wikimedia.org addresses) because it gives bug-submitters the impression that someone will notice their bug, when in reality it will potentially go unnoticed. E.g. All 3 of the Default CC addresses for this component, are non-functional: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions&component=LastModified However, perhaps those staff members would wish to follow the new bugs as volunteers? E.g. alolita (asharma) is a default CC on https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions&component=CLDR but with her non-staff email address. Possibly she would like to have the same setup for the ContentTranslation component. Hence the draft/placeholder/suggestion I left (and have now updated) at the VerboseOffboarding page. Hope that helps. :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
