Sorry, I don't get how this reply is relevant.

No. They're not immediately needed /for account creation/. You can have
gender-relevant messages before, simultaneously or (soon) after account
creation, but this won't make them immediately needed for account creation
itself.
(Besides, I don't see where MoodBar is shown in current implementation.)
